CSX 145 creeps out of Towers Tunnel under the watchful eye of its namesake deep in the heart of Breaks Gorge on the Virginia/Kentucky state line.

CSX 801 has just exited the Towers Tunnel, named after the massive rock seen in the background which towers over the Breaks Gorge. Not an easy place to get to, but well worth the effort...

As the last rays of sunlight fall this extra north crosses the bridge at Skaggs Hole. The foliage for this year is almost gone but one thing rests assured......the coal trains will still roll on.

Pushers are working hard as they help move a loaded coal train through Towers.

Seen from the overlook high above Skaggs Tunnel you can see a breathing taking view of the tracks at the SE of Towers. I suggest only going for this picture in the non-summer months.
